CLASSMATE’S DISCUSSION
Mobility is a major shift, even in federal IT. Every system will require some form of mobile interface, even if with only limited functionality, in order to compete in the IT market. One key contributor to the increase in interest in mobility is cloud providers, especially Software as a Service solutions. These allow potentially any device from any location to access organization data and systems. This leads directly to the demise of the standard data center as processing and data storage are handled by the SaaS provider, with the possible exception of very large organizations who build their own private cloud-like solutions or groups that deal in highly sensitive information. Specifically, this would remove server farms and any network infrastructure (layer 2 and 3 client switches) that do not directly serve client devices. A step further would be the removal of all wired network devices. Wireless internet (WiFi) is becoming more robust and secure and, with proper design, provide professional level connectivity that completely removes the need for physical cabling to the desk and the entire array of network infrastructure supporting client devices.

CLASSMATE’S DISCUSSION
I believe that mobility, through the evolving aspects of smart devices and technological enhancements will drive the ability to communicate faster and easier than ever. With cloud services, artificial intelligence, and edge computing becoming the prevalent network, service, and application method of choice, information technology assets in both organizational and personal communications, will become even more scalable, efficient, and capable. In ten years’ time, we as a society may see an end to traditional analog telephone systems as VoIP technologies have grown expeditiously in features, capabilities, and mobility. We may also see the nullification of desktop computers as, again, mobility and scalability in thin/zero clients and laptops that connect to the cloud for all services become the norm.

1.  Danielle Citron and Robert Chesney explore the social and cultural contexts of deep fake technologies.  According to Citron and Chesney, why does misinformation spread so quickly on social media?  How might deep fake technologies be useful and how might they cause harm? (cite specifics from the article).  What potential legal solutions do they propose and why might they be difficult to enforce? (select one example from the article to discuss).
2.  According to Cass Sunstein’s piece, does the government have the right to regulate deep fakes?  Why or why not?

This is the ‘official’ page for information regarding any active storm. After you have thoroughly reviewed the contents of this site, answer these questions:
1. Overall, how would you assess the effectiveness of the NHS info for EM Professionals?
2. Given your answer for question 1, how effective do you feel this page is for the public?  Are those two answers different?  Why?
3. What is this site’s best ‘one glance’ method of conveying information? Why?
4. What do you feel is missing from this site in regards to effective decision making? Imagine you were responsible for ordering evacuations, does this site tell you everything you need to know?

you will build your own dashboard.
Your job begins by finding a sample data file.  There are many out on the web but I suspect most of you have access to data from your jobs, homes, church, etc. that you can use for this project.  I want this to be as meaningful as possible so I am hoping you are able to find a file that you can visualize in Tableau that will turn out to be something that is very useful to you personally.
Regardless of the file you choose, I want you to use best practices to build a dashboard that conveys useful information from your analysis. You have had a chance to practice building dashboards so this is a continuation of that process. Your job is to use your data file in Tableau to build a dashboard that can be presented to persuade an audience to take action.
To do this:
1.  Become familiar with your data.  What is in it?  What story is it telling?  What can you see?
2.  Build at least four visuals that can be part of a dashboard.
3.  Build a dashboard that shows your visualizations in a logical form that helps tell your story.
4.  Write an accompanying paper that tells your story.  This could be the script of your presentation.  Describe each of your visuals and how they come together to become a dashboard that tells the story.
You will be graded on the quality of your presentation.  Did you follow the best practices in presentation design?  Do your visuals render correctly?  Do they support the story you are trying to tell?
Export your dashboard as a PDF and submit it, along with your paper / presentation script, as your final assessment for this competency.
I look forward to seeing your creativity on this project.
At least four high-quality visuals are included.

Five Sources Formatted According to APA Rules for References
The research paper must include a list of sources used in the paper. In the APA format, the list is called: References. You should review the rules for formatting a citation for the References list, but it is not necessary for you to compose a citation from scratch. Use may a citation generator. The citation generators produce the citations for you. You plug in the information about your source and the generator gives you the citation. There are several free ones available. I recommend this citation generator: Son of Citation Machine. You can access this generator at: http://citationmachine.net
