The purpose of this exercise is to use knowledge gained from this course and apply it to the
writing of an abstract focused on the microbiology or immunology practical laboratory
classes.
Examine & Assess the activities of a selected microbe or group. Organise, apply,
evaluate and investigate a microbial-immunity problem.

: Discuss the components and processes involved in the body’s defences against microbial
disease.

control by immune mechanisms.
The practical abstract assessment is structured according to conventional laboratory
structuring of experimental abstracts ie. title, introduction/background, materials & methods,
results, discussion/conclusions.. This lab practical abstract assessment will be focussed on one abstract
selected from the 3 practical sessions taken during this module: 1. Basic Microbiologytechnique: characterisation & enumeration of probiotic bac​‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌​teria
