expected to critically discuss your chosen question using a specific example(s) – I would recommend no more than two – and relevant theoretical and scholarly literature. Before you begin to research and write the essay, I would recommend reading Jamal & Kim, ‘Bridging the interdisciplinary divide: Towards an integrated framework for heritage tourism research’. You might find this valuable, partly because it contains a useful literature review and overview of a wide variety of critical approaches to heritage and tourism, but also because you may find its reflexive account of developing ‘an integrated micro-macro knowledge base for heritage tourism research’ helpful when it comes to framing your own research questions and analysis.
About the paper:
The paper should say that the distinction between intangible and tangible heritage doesn’t matter. And as a case study my lecturer advised me to look at The Globe Theatre as an existing one still. Globe theatre, as tangible can address material authenticity and its connection to Shakespeare, and as an intangible aspect its style of acting/ what they do there may be an excellent aspect to look in (since it is considered as a living heritage) Also my lecturer said Unesco definitions of tangible and intangible heritage may be helpful in understanding the Globe and what happens there.
