Start a discussion this week where you take a position DIFFERENT from the one you took in your paper. Argue the benefits of this position.
A full length wall with significant underground extensions to prevent tunneling running from the Gulf of Mexico to the California coast along the lines proposed by President Trump.
Below the comments that I received for my essay so I will need some help to restructure it to fit into the critireas shared by the instructor.
The essay shows some understanding of
the themes and concepts covered in the module, but insufficient ability to
apply them to answer the question chosen. The essay does not answer the question that ask you to discuss
if the migration crisis represents the greatest challenge to the stability of
the EU. In order to answer it, you should have presented the other side of the
argument. Moreover, you could have compared the impact of the migration crisis
with the one of other issues that pose a threat to the stability of the EU.
contains some interesting points on migration, but it tends to be extremely
descriptive. The argument is not sufficiently developed and not clearly
presented. I strongly encourage you to work more on this point.
ONLY USE THE ATTACHED FILE: Please answer the following questions based on the attached reading
As briefly as possible the
responses must answer the following questions:
1. What is the research question?
2. What is the central argument?
a. What is the central outcome (dependent variable) of interest the
author is trying to explain?
b. What is(are) the central independent variable(s) of interest the
author argues drives this outcome?
3. What approach does the author take to provide evidence for this
argument? What is the research design?
4. How could the work be made better? What is your opinion on the
5. Further Questions or Questions for Discussion?
To re-iterate, these memos are not intended to be heavily work-intensive, but to
help structure your reading and guide your understanding of the reading. Please
keep responses to 1-3 as brief as possible (1-2 sentences or even bullet points)
and focus your time more on putting careful thought into 4 and 5 (2-4
Arguing that slavery was reintroduced by the Islamic State to maintain control over the people with a strict Shari’a law or something on that line. Argue AGAINST that notion that slavery not being used as a control method but part of the awaited prophesy.
In this course, we have made frequent references to three theoretical perspectives: realism, liberalism, and constructivism. Evaluate the Cold War, including the immediate aftermath of WWII and the downfall of the USSR, from each of these three perspectives. How might each theory interpret the events of the Cold War differently? What insights and/or anomalies arise when assessing the Cold War from each of these perspectives?
A Successful Paper:
Contains a wealth of facts that are both accurate and relevant, fully develop complex ideas, and explains phenomena adequately. The paper remains focused on the issue and avoids straying into tangential subjects. The paper observes the minimum requirements for length, style, and citation.
The term paper will be a 3-4 page, single-spaced research paper. Any consistent citation style is acceptable. Claims must be substantiated with citations from reputable sources, which includes the textbook. Err on the side of caution with citations because without exception plagiarism (i.e. presenting the words or ideas of another person as your own) will result, at minimum, in a 0% F.
Finished Product: 8-10 pages including research and analysis
1. Review the website for the International Center for Transitional Justice. If you would like to use another case study beyond what you find on the website, please ask your instructor. Please do not use Northern Ireland as we will look at that case in detail in Week 7.
2. Select an ongoing case study in transitional justice. Research the background and current issues in the problem.
a. What methods of transitional justice might be used to understand and solve the problem? Create a research design that will allow the tools of that method to be applied.
“Transitional justice consists of both judicial and non-judicial mechanisms, including prosecution initiatives, reparations, truth-seeking, institutional reform, or a combination thereof). Whatever combination is chosen must be in conformity with international legal standards and obligations” (UN Commissioner for Human Rights 2013, n.p.) b. Create these sections for your paper, using subheadings to create sectional divisions: (8-10 pages total not counting a cover sheet, References List, and any appendices with extra information)
i. Statement of the problem (about 1/2 page)
ii. Background to the problem (about 2-3 pages)
iii. Identifiable issues (about 2 pages)
iv. Possible solutions (within the context of your selected theory of transitional justice) (about 2 pages)
v. Recommendation (1-2 pages)
vi. Anticipated outcomes and conclusion (1-2 pages)
This assignment is a research essay. Please use at least eight peer-reviewed journal articles in preparing this assignment, especially in writing about the theoretical basis of your solution. You may access peer-reviewed articles from our Library databases. Also, you will need to obtain some current information.
Please present your work as a Word document, remembering to double-space. At a minimum, put your name and a title on the paper – but a proper “insert header” with page numbers would be a professional touch to your paper. You do not have to create a cover page but may if you wish.
This is a 15-20 page critical analysis paper. The paper will examine a particular event or organization that has been active within the Islamic world. You will have to clear the topic with me before you start your research. Additionally, you will have to confer with me twice during the term to demonstrate your progress and what you have found so far. You may not use Wikipedia at all. Please use scholarly articles and current news articles.
In writing all essays and research paper, the student must use academically valid sources, and use of a scholarly format. For this class we will use the APA format for citations. The student should use at least 4 sources for the paper. Students should follow the research process to formulate a topic, develop a position, using a well- reasoned argument. Students are encouraged to use the writing process to develop an outline, drafts, and revisions.
PLEASE MOST OF THE SOURCES NEED TO BE THE READINGS FROM THE CLASS WHICH I HAVE UPLOADED. OTHER SOURCES CAN BE USED AS WELL BUT THE READINGS ARE IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY HUNNIGTON AND LIPSET. MUST HAVE A WORKS CITED PAGE. WORKS CITED CANNOT BE INCLUDED IN THE 3025 WORDS. I PUT 10 SOURCES BUT CAN BE MORE. NO PLAGIARISM.
The term paper concentrates on one aspect of regime change –
democratization. You are expected to select a country that underwent
democratic transition in the recent past which is commonly referred to
as the third and fourth waves of democracy. The notion of waves of
democracy was introduced by Samuel P. Huntington’s in his historical
analysis of the global democratic process. According to Huntington, the
adoption of democracy happened in three waves:
The first wave began in the early 19th century across North America and Western Europe in the aftermath of the American and French revolutions.
The second wave began after World War II.
The third wave began in the mid-1970s starting in Portugal and Spain
before spreading across Asia, Africa Central Europe and Latin America.
The fourth wave has recently been added by some scholars and refers
to the Arab spring that spread in the Middle East after 2011.
Your essay should include descriptive and explanatory analyses.
In the descriptive portion, you will ask questions such as: briefly,
what is the political history of the country? What type of political
system does it have?
Then, you move on to an analysis of democratic transition and
consolidation by addressing questions such as: when and how did the
transition to democracy transpire? Who were/are the major actors? What
were their interests and how did they reach consensus? What were the
institutional changes in the pre and post-transition period? What can be
said about the success and/or failure of the democratic transition? Use
indicators of democracy and governance such as Polity IV, Freedom House
Report, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International reports and so on.
The explanatory analyses of your essay deal with questions like:
what factors explain the outbreak, successful transition or failure of
democracy to take hold in that specific country?
You will be evaluated based on your understanding of the main points
and arguments of the readings and your ability to make simple but
meaningful connections between the authors’ (or theoretical approaches)
main arguments and your case country. More specifically, the following
three criteria will be applied for grading the assignments.
Critical evaluation: your essay should demonstrate
good grasp of the theme of the course and its readings. You should be
able to synthesize and integrate the assigned literature to the case
Organization: your essay should have clear logical
structure with an introduction, main body, and conclusion. There should
be logical flow and transition from one idea to the next, regularly
developing or building on the previous one.
Style and Presentation: your essay should have
minimal spelling or grammatical errors and it should meet the guidelines
for word length and, when necessary, proper citation of sources. Avoid
complicated words and expressions; keep your sentences simple and
expressive. You should be able to say more with less words.
The paper should be between 3000 – 3500 words long (roughly 12 pages
in double line spacing). Your paper should follow proper research
procedures and make sure to indicate your sources for all citations and
quotations (author, publication date and, when appropriate page number),
and should have a separate references section at the end. User-generated websites such as Wikipedia are not reliable scholarly
sources and therefore are not permitted for use.
Read chapter 14 and use the facts from the chapter to provide specific answer.
Answer the three questions from the assignment “Is There a Global Food Crisis?” on page 482.
1.Of the causes of the food crisis mentioned here—environmental stress, government policies, prices of agricultural inputs, and food consumption patterns—which do you think is the most important to address in overcoming the crisis? Why?
2.As a policy maker, how would you balance the need for addressing domestic poverty with the need to contribute to assisting with the international humanitarian food crisis?
3.The food crisis raises a question fundamental to our existence: Is our world capable of supporting itself? What insights do realist, liberal, and constructivist theories provide regarding our future prospects?
In-text citation placed at the end of a sentence must support the fact explained in that one sentence.
Copy each question and type your specific answer below it.
