This assignment focuses on analysing and comparing how TWO firms have initiated a variety of SD practices to incentivise their suppliers’ adoption of ONE of these operations improvement tools(lean, six sigma, lean six sigma, theory of constraint (TOC), sustainability as influential operations improvement tools for firms in both manufacturing and service settings)- Select two case studies which are renowned organisations in any sector of interests such as manufacturing, retail, entertainment, hospitality, logistics or public sector. Two cases can operate in the same sector or different sectors with clear motivation and justification for your choice. Do not hesitate to be creative and different in your selection- Pick ONE of the improvement tools studied in the course such as lean, six sigma, lean six sigma, theory of constraint (TOC), sustainability as the focus of the supplier development practice- Analyse how two case studies encourage its suppliers to adopt the selected improvement tool via a range of supplier development initiatives/practices and to compare the objectives, implementation process, its scope, results/effectiveness and challenges of their approaches accordingly- Search for and review relevant academic literature on the application of supplier development and the chosen operation improvement tools. For example, why and how sustainability is being implemented in supplier development initiatives, and what are enablers/barriers discussed in the literature(Please follow the recommended structure)
